In a career that spans nearly 25 years, Barry Sparkman continues to explore the creative possibilities of nonobjective paintings and prints in his new home of Phoenix, Arizona. His body of work reflects an intense interest in and respect for nature in all of its forms. Having lived in such diverse environments as Tennessee, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, Montana, and Florida, he consistently absorbs the look and feel of each place, storing a plethora of rich and differing images for use in the making of abstract works of art.

He has worked as Gallery Manager at the University of Miami's Lowe Art Museum, registrar at the Art Museum at Florida International University and Gallery Director at Miami's New World School of the Arts.

However, first and foremost, Barry Sparkman is a fine artist. Throughout his career, he has had an extensive number of solo and group exhibitions at venues throughout the United States.
